As part of the preparation for the Olympics, I helped to create some new content for the Coca-Cola Piccadilly Circus sign. The brief was that the new content needed to be fun and refreshing whilst maintaining the brand feel/identities of each of the main 3 Coke brands [Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coke Zero].
I made two of the three new ‘Brand Copy’ pieces [one for each brand] as well as 2 new idents each for Diet Coke and Coke Zero [there were several idents for Coca-Cola already]. Whilst adding new non-Coca-Cola specific branded animations to the screen may have lead to a loss of identity, we have maintained a high level of branding throughout the playlist at the same time as adding some visually new and refreshing content.
